I am so excited to be beginning a yoga program at Chicago Primal Gym. Not only am I looking forward to offering the yoga practice to a wonderful community, but I am even more excited to be doing it for such a great cause.
During the month of October, all proceeds from my Thursday evening yoga class will go to NPH USA: A Chicago-based non-profit that provides loving homes, nutrition, healthcare and education to orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children in Latin America.
It is largely due to the home I grew up in, that I have been able to do all that I have been able to do so far in life. The support of four warm walls, family and unconditional love enabled me to play, smile and laugh, which gave me the opportunity to discover who I am, what I love, and what I have to offer. I would not be who I am today had I not had this as a child. I am forever grateful for this.
As someone who personally grew up in a loving household, I believe every child deserves love, care, health, a home, and a support system. It is unfortunate that every child is not automatically given these things. Not every child is given the opportunity to discover his or her full potential to lead a happy, healthy life. But with the help of organizations like NPH USA, more children are given the chance. The opportunity for a happy, healthy, fully lived life becomes an option for these innocent children. I am beyond happy to be teaching a weekly yoga class that supports this cause.
Join me at Chicago Primal Gym 6:30pm on Thursday nights during the month of October for this playful yet peaceful practice that will combine Vinyasa and Yin Yoga.
